How do I manage my subscription?
You can easily pause, skip, or reschedule orders from your Subscription Portal.

If desired, you can also add one-time purchases to your next delivery. Shipping costs are automatically updated when one-time purchases are added or removed.
If your next delivery becomes eligible for Free Shipping at the $75 threshold, but does not show "Free Shipping" in the subscription portal, we will make sure to update the cost before charging your payment method.
How do I store my tinned seafood?
Tinned seafood is a shelf stable product that will last several years with proper storage.
We recommended storing your tins in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Ideally, a pantry or a cupboard with a consistent temperature.
Once opened, transfer any unused portions to a separate airtight container and refrigerate promptly. We recommend consuming opened tins within 1-2 days for optimal flavor and freshness.
When will my order ship?
Your first order will ship within 1-2 business days from when you ordered it. Subsequent orders will be shipped out on the 16th of each month, or the next closest business day.
How much does shipping cost?
For the Omakase Experience, shipping is always FREE.
Shipping for the Explorer & Gourmet tiers is calculated at checkout based on the destination of the delivery. For pre-paid subscriptions, shipping for each of the 3 or 6 deliveries is calculated at checkout and charged at the time of purchase.
For example, a 6-month pre-paid subscription to the Explorer Tier would charge for 6 Deliveries * $x amount per delivery based on the final destination.
When will my payment method be charged?
For monthly-recurring subscriptions, your chosen payment method is charged when your first order is placed and then each time your subscription renews i.e. on the 16th of every month.
If desired, you can reschedule your next payment and order from your subscription portal.
Prepaid subscriptions and any applicable shipping costs for the prepaid # of deliveries are charged in their entirety at the time of purchase.
Why do the number of tins in my subscription vary?
Our subscription tiers offer a range of tins each month to ensure a more exciting and diverse selection. The Explorer tier includes 2 to 3 tins, the Gourmet tier offers 3 to 4 tins, and the Omakase Experience provides 4 to 6 tins.
This flexibility allows us to include higher-quality or specialty tins that might not fit in a subscription with a fixed number. For example, with a range, we can occasionally include a premium $20 tin that wouldn’t be possible with a strict 3-tin limit.
What if I have an allergy?
If you have an allergy of some kind e.g. a shellfish allergy, please reach out to us at hello@shopfishnook.com before placing your order and we will do our best to accommodate you!
How are tins chosen each month?
We do extensive product testing (tasting) to ensure we're shipping only the most delicious tins of seafood.
Each month, our program is designed to offer an exciting, interesting, and unique assortment of tinned fish that can be incorporated into your mealtimes in a variety of contexts.
Some fish may be enjoyed straight from the tin, while others might be best incorporated into a seafood pasta or placed over a bowl of warm rice.
All of those above points are considered while ensuring the chosen tins fit within the budget of your monthly subscription.
What if my box arrives damaged or missing items?
We take pride in carefully packaging each of our boxes, and so damaged or missing items are a rarity. That being said, if there is an issue we're more than happy to get it solved!
If any tins arrive aggressively dented/damaged to the point where consumption is no longer possible or safe, please capture an image of the issue and reach out to us within 48 hours.
